Have you ever wondered which might be the highest train station in Europe? We’ve got the answer for you. Hop on the train at Interlaken Ost trainstation and enjoy a beautiful 2.5 hr trainride up to 3454 meter. The panorama is absolutely stunning and on a beautiful day you can see french and german peaks from the panoramic terrace. The ride is quite expensive but hey, where else in the money you get to see that panorama? I’d say money well spent! You can get all the info you need as well as your ticket right in the Outdoor Interlaken shop. My tip for super savings: Book a “Discover the Jungfrau Winter Package”.

4. Try something Swiss!

What do you know about the Swiss? That they like cheese? That they love winter? That they live on mountains? Well you’ve heard the clichés but there’s some truth in it. While you are in Interlaken you should try something very traditional the Swiss do in winter: Night Sledding.
Night Sledding? I guess you have no clue what this might be. Let me explain. Since it’s dark and you might not necessarily know the area very well and you don’t want to get lost in the swiss forest, we recommend you to join a guided trip with Outdoor Interlaken, where your only concern is not to loose your bread in the cheese. Equipped with warm winter clothing we take you up to a small, romantic mountain village. The little gondola brings you up to the start of the sled track. With the track only lighted by the moon and the stars, you zip down the 1 hour long sled run and on the way you discover a frozen waterfall. Down in the valley you can try a typical swiss meal: The Fondue. The traditional swiss cheese dish is another must that belongs on your bucket list. And keep in mind: don’t lose your bread…

Trotz den schwierigen Rahmenbedingungen erreicht die Outdoor Interlaken AG eine
Umsatzsteigerung bei Wassersport Aktivitäten und Seilpark

Interlaken, 15. August 2011 Trotz anhaltend schwierigem Umfeld im Tourismus kann die
Outdoor Interlaken AG die Umsätze bei den Wassersportaktivitäten und beim Seilpark steigern.
Die Unternehmung erreichte im Vergleich zum Vorjahr im Sommer eine Steigerung von 14 %.
Insbesondere Schweizer Gruppen nehmen vermehrt an den Wassersportaktivitäten teil und
besuchen den Seilpark. Berücksichtigt man die Wettereinflüsse im Juli, die
Währungsschwankungen und die Unsicherheit der letzten Monate im Tourismus, ist das
Resultat der Unternehmung sehr zufriedenstellend.

Insbesondere die Canyoning Angebote werden vermehrt von Schweizer Kunden gebucht. Nach
wie vor anhaltend ist die Tendenz dazu, dass ein hoher Buchungsanteil direkt über das Internet
als Absatzkanal generiert wird.

Die Outdoor Interlaken AG wurde im 2001 gegründet und ist mit dem Label „Safety in
Adventures“ zertifiziert und Mitglied der Swiss Outdoor Associaiton (SOA).

Wir freuen uns auf das kommende Country & Truckerfest in Interlaken – nebst dem Festivalbesuch bietet sich eine Aktivität mit Outdoor Interlaken an: Canyoning, River Rafting, Seilpark Interlaken oder auch Paragliding als die ideale Ergänzung zum Festivalbesuch.

Auch für Schulen, Gruppen und Firmen bietet Outdoor Simmental spannende Akvititäten an. Wir freuen uns darauf aktiv im Simmental tätig zu sein und spannende und erlebnisreiche Aktivitäten an zu bieten.

The APEX race will be a non-stop event and the following disciplines will take place in the Interlaken area:

· Navigation – Teams will have to navigate their own way through the entire race using only maps, compass and the roadbook.
· Paddling – The paddling will be done both on lakes and class II rivers using kayaks/canoes. More information on the type of boats used will come soon.
· Running/Trekking – Along hiking trails and off the beaten track, up in the mountains and down in the valleys.
· Mountain bike – Along technical single trails and dirt roads, up in the mountains and down in the valleys.
· Canyoning – Trekking, swimming and jumping through beautiful canyons. The canyoning activity is supervised by professional staff.
· Rafting – Alpine white-water rafting in class III-IV rapids. All teams are accompanied by an experienced rafting guide.
· Paragliding – One person per team get to experience the course from a birds’ eye view. Paragliding is done together with an experienced pilot.

All athletes will participate in teams of four, a supporting crew is not allowed – a fact which makes the race even harder.
